01 · Intellectual Property & Framework Development
Turn what you know into something that compounds.
Through Infinite Horizon Consulting, I help experts, founders, consultants, creators, and organizations uncover the intellectual property already embedded in their experience—their methods, observations, processes, and ways of thinking—and turn it into something structured, articulable, and usable.
What this work is
What is intellectual property development?
Most experts carry far more intellectual property than they realize. It shows up as the method they use without thinking, the distinction they always make with clients, the question they ask that changes the conversation. It's valuable, but it usually lives in their head, scattered across content, or buried in client work.
Intellectual property development is the work of finding that thinking, naming it, and giving it structure—so it can become frameworks, methodologies, tools, products, and systems that other people can understand and use, and that keep creating value beyond your own hours.
Voice and lens
Your voice is how you communicate. Your lens is how you see.
- Voice
- How you communicate—your tone, style, and the way you sound on the page or in the room.
- Lens
- The patterns you notice, the distinctions you make, the questions you ask, the conclusions you keep reaching, the methods you've developed, and the way you interpret problems differently from others in your field.
Most content work focuses on voice. This work focuses on lens—because that's where the intellectual property usually is, even when you've never thought of it that way.
Who it's for
What brings people to this work?
Usually, a sense that there's more in the expertise than the business is currently using.
- You have a way of working that clients value but you've never articulated
- Your ideas are spread across posts, talks, notes, and client calls
- You want a signature framework or methodology that's actually yours
- Your expertise only scales as far as your calendar
- You're considering a book, course, assessment, or product but don't know what it is yet
- Your thought leadership sounds like everyone else in your field
What I help build
What can your expertise become?
Frameworks & methodologies
Proprietary frameworks, models, and named methodologies that make your thinking repeatable and teachable.
Concepts & terminology
Named concepts and a clear vocabulary that give your ideas edges—and make them easier to recognize and remember.
Assessments & tools
Diagnostics, assessments, and practical tools that let others use your thinking without you in the room.
Education & curriculum
Training, curriculum, and educational resources architected around how your ideas actually build on each other.
Content architecture
A structure that connects your content back to a core body of thinking, instead of an endless stream of disconnected posts.
Products & long-form assets
Product concepts, books, and long-form intellectual assets developed from the same underlying body of expertise.
How I approach it
Find it. Name it. Structure it. Build from it.
I start with what already exists—your work, content, client material, notes, and the way you talk about problems. I look for the patterns underneath, test what's genuinely distinctive, and develop it into a structure strong enough to build multiple assets from.
- 01Gather and study what already exists
- 02Identify the patterns and distinctions in your lens
- 03Name and structure the core ideas
- 04Develop them into frameworks and models
- 05Map the assets they can become
- 06Turn the strongest opportunities into usable assets
Outcomes
What an engagement might produce
One body of expertise can become Frameworks → Content → Tools → Products → Systems → Assets. Depending on where you are, an engagement might produce:
- A named, documented proprietary framework or methodology
- A defined vocabulary of concepts and terms
- An IP map showing what your expertise could become
- An assessment, tool, or diagnostic
- Curriculum or training architecture
- A content architecture built around your core ideas
- A product, book, or long-form asset concept
Why me
Why this kind of thinking helps
Seeing the structure inside someone else's expertise is hard to do from the inside. I tend to see the model hiding underneath messy information—and I've done this work on my own ideas as well as others'.
I developed Human Capacity Systems Theory (HCST) from an emerging idea into a structured body of theory, terminology, assessments, published essays, and implementation architecture. It's the same process I bring to clients' expertise.

A note on scope: this is strategic and intellectual asset development—not legal intellectual property work. I'm not an attorney and don't provide patent, trademark, copyright, or other legal IP advice. If you need legal protection for what we develop, that's a conversation for a qualified IP attorney.
You already have the raw material.
Tell me about what you know, how you work, and the ideas you keep returning to. We'll find the structure—and what it could become.
